Replaced original 2008 Mercruiser 5.0 liter engines (160 hours; 260 hp each) with brand new (not remanufactured) 2020 Mercruiser 383 Mag Stroker engines (350hp each). These engines are electronically fuel-injected and have a closed cooling system for longer life. New engines now have about 40 hours on them and are still covered under the 3-year manufacturer’s warranty. With the Bravo 3 outdrives and dual counter-rotating props, the boat planes in 6 or 7 seconds even when fully loaded with water, fuel, gear and friends. Top speed is about 40mph; easy cruising speeds anywhere from 25-35 mph. At those speeds, we can talk, laugh, not have our hats fly off, etc. Boat has large electric trim tabs to keep it in balance even with inexperienced passengers moving side to side while underway. Boat has a nice V-hull, lots of freeboard and a great windshield for a dry ride even on the ocean. You can take this boat from Florida to the Bahamas. Not to mention the awesome Kohler 5KW gas generator, which powers everything 120v on the boat, including a new (2020) 15” TV with Roku stick for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Peacock etc. (run it over any wifi network, or using the wifi hotspot on your phone) and an integrated DVD player; a microwave oven; a single-burner glass cooktop; various 120v electrical outlets; a galley sink with hot and cold fresh running water; a 120v/12v dual-voltage refrigerator with freezer; and beautiful 10,000 BTU CruiseAir A/C for the cabin (and the bathroom). The automatic charging system will charge all three batteries from shore power or from either engine’s alternator; and with the flip of a switch you can cross-connect all three of the batteries for maximum starting power in case you have an issue with one of the cranking batteries. Plus, the house power (for stereo, toilet, fresh water pump, nav & courtesy lights, etc.) runs from the house battery but not from the cranking batteries - so even if you run the house battery completely down, you can still confidently fire up the engines and get on with your trip with no issues. The engines will recharge the house battery automatically while underway. Though this boat’s primary function is cruising, it’s also a great general-purpose boat, and can pull a skier or float with no problem. We use a Y-harness on the two aft cleats, with a pulley, to pull our kids and friends around on a 500-lb capacity inflatable tow-behind at 25-30mph to give them a good adrenaline rush.
